Class Descriptions
Introduction
to Piano Theory
This
piano class will be taught in a group session. Each student
will have the opportunity to play the keyboard during class
time. We will use the TDR teaching format: theory,
demonstration, return-demonstration.
At the
conclusion of this 6 month class, each student should know:

How to
build major and minor scales.
-
The
correct fingering for playing each of the major scales.
-
How to
build triad chords, including major, minor, and diminished
chords.
-
Several
chord progressions.
-
How to
play with a fast or slow tempo.
-
How to
play several songs in all 12 keys with ease.

expecting to learn and have fun!!!!
Voice / Singing Lessons
Will teach students
breathing exercises in order to develop breath control
while singing. We will teach the students warm-up
exercises to properly warm up your voice before singing.
The students will learn how to properly care for their
voice. We will teach several vocal techniques that will
allow the students to expand their vocal range. We will
develop the students ability to sing on pitch and with
proper tone. We also will teach them several praise &
worship songs to develop their ability to harmonize.
Ages 10 - up
Class length: 45 min - Ages 10 and Up
Beginning
Hip Hop I
This
class focuses on the integration of Christian contemporary
and hip-hop styles of dance into your flow of ministry. If
you are serious about hip-hop evangelism, or just want to
have fun, this class is for you.
Ages 8-10
Class length: 30min
Inter/Advanced Hip Hop II
An
intermediate/advanced class is a intricate high-energy
combination movement class that will challenge the seasoned
dancers. Again, if you are REALLY serious at using this
style of dance to use as a source of witnessing, this is for
you.
Ages 11– Up
Class length: 30min
Beginning Praise/Liturgical
Dance
Basic
ballet positions, movements and steps are included in this
class and there is some free style and interpretive movement
as well. The y will praise God in a very Biblical way with
the gifts and talents that He has given them. Besides
praising God, learning and having fun, they will gain
physical strength, stamina, flexibility and coordination.
They will minister a choreographed dance in an informal
setting at the end of the session.
Ages 8-10
Class length: 30min
Inter/Adv. Praise/Liturgical
Dance
Using
foundations from ballet, lyrical and modern dance technique,
this class teaches the student how to reclaim the art of
dance for the Kingdom of God. Warm ups and stretches start
the class and it progresses through combinations in center
adding new steps to expand the student's vocabulary of
movement. It will all come together in a complete
choreographed dance at the end of the session when the class
will minister in an informal setting at the end of the
session.
Ages 11-Up
Class length: 30min
Beginning Drums
Will provide students with the fundamentals of playing the
drum set, understanding rhythm and tempo. Students will
learn stick exercises to help build muscle control.
Students will need practice sticks.
